I thought they said Spring Break...not winter break!

We are supposed to be enjoying the fantastic weather of Spring Break but instead we have 4-6 inches of snow!
It never puts a damper on Mikelle and friends keeping busy--this time with a chocolate cake and "rainbow" frosting.
It was also great that we were snowed in for a while so I could concentrate at the task at hand. Desperate times (20 year class reunion in August) call for desperate measures (meet my trainer Ellie for the next 10 weeks!) I could not pass up my friend's business deal where the trainer comes to your home! I can't believe I posted the before pic either but hopefully in June I will be 20 pounds lighter! I think it is sad that I needed the "accountability to someone" piece to get me going but today went great--we will see if the scale agrees in the next few days.
Steve was off for a few days of his Spring break so we hit the zoo. We figured we were going to drop almost 50 bucks anyway-so why not grab the season pass for a few more dollars. Steve said they do the lights at Christmas etc. so we should get our $$ worth. (Plus if the kids need a day trip in the summer-we can run up there in the mornings before it gets too hot).
Always fun to see the elephants! I love all the remodeling that goes on at the zoo!
Our little apes!
Smiling in spite of the giraffe odor!
The fave pic spot.
Pop-n-kids.
The kids are doing a great job keeping themselves entertained through the break with things like pitching the tent downstairs to sleep in.
Mikelle's Easter eggs.
The egg kit had all of the cute eyes and faces ready to apply and everyone had fun putting their eggs together. I thought they looked like the Mo-tab (choir) so we had to take a picture.
Easter fun!
We had the Annual Egg hunt at G&G Dimonds. Judy was feeling good enough to come. It was so great to see her after being SO tough with her surgery! Heather was in town for the weekend!
It was so fun to see Dave & Michelle and their cute boys!
Thanks for the yummy pizza and the easter stash G&G!
The "newlyweds" updated us on where they think they will attend law school this fall! Sarah is cranking out her Nursing degree!
The kids giving me one pose before we go home!
Kenz has a little crush on cousin Sam!
The "trio" were so cute and fun to try and get a pic of!
Easter Sunday comes at you fast with the early church schedule:)
I guess we like peach colors so much-we wore it all again this year:)
Steve did a great job in the choir and the boys were so good at church! We came home to a whole day of unrushed family time which was heavenly!
The night before the egg hunt, we attended a Utah Flash game thanks to nephew Eric! Thanks so much!! It was a blast!
Other cousins were there too and the Fox was giving them grief!
We were a little late for the game as the freeway was shut down due to this! I never saw the news report on TV or in the paper, but people had to have died in this one!
We were about 10 cars back when Life Flight landed and although I feel horrible for those involved, the little medical/morgue person in me wanted a closer view of the details!
Just before the game, Kenz returned from Darlie's pink-a-licious party! Get a load of the thank you party favors! Our jaws were on the floor too!
D & H tried to pull a few paprazzi avoidance moves on me-but I was able to catch these gorgeous celebrities before they cruised off in the night!
Thanks for transporting Kenz clear down to our neck of the woods! Very sweet of you guys! Jules is looking very pink-a-licious herself--wouldn't you agree Nate? Oww babe-uh!
How coincidental that just as Mikelle and I go see the new Hannah Montana movie (line about butterfly fly away), that the boys bring home their caterpillars from school who are now butterflies. They say a few emotional good-byes to their "babies" this weekend. It was very sweet to see that our tough guys still have a soft side!
So cute!
Before the big release...
Thank goodness Stve was off to help the kids with "crazy hair day" on Friday.
He has the creative powers!
Kenz is now able to do the towel head wrap herself:) Just a random FYI:)
One of the boys scout projects--these scouts should grow hair (grass) out of their nylon heads soon!
Cam won "best form" during the "Olympic" week at Karate. Yeah Cam!
Studying everyday this past week for tests before spring break!
The shortest Pack Mtg. on record! Steve was in heaven! The boys earned another beltloop!
This was April Fool's Day weather! WTHeck?
Mikelle just registered for Jr. High! Like mother-like daughter...HUSKIES FIRE IT UP! We were an hour early for the band sign-up line. Mikelle wants to play the flute and there were only going to be 8 spots available (school is huge like 2000 kids) so the teacher probably thought we were idiots, but hey, the first people in line is a great place to be! She got a spot!
Mikelle did a great job as a narrator for their class play of Romeo and Juliet!
Go girl!
They did a great job! Pop sent flowers with G&G D since he was out of town! So cute!
We added another adviser to our Beehive party since we will have 16-17 girls by May! We are having fun getting ideas ready for camp and just trying to stay on top of the weekly stuff!
The girls were all the bomb at our talent show! What happened to my generation? This one has no fear and is so talented! Everyone was awesome to share their "gifts."
I was able to sneak up to the General YW training for new Presidencies in SLC the last day of March. As soon as I discovered I could take a few pics of the new virtue displays in the lobby, I went back in to take a picture of the YW display of flags on the stage (of course so we could copy for our meetings). The General Presidency was just leaving and a sister missionary said go hop in the picture with them-so of course I jumped on that! They were very inspiring to listen to and I can't even imagine their callings! (Just returned from Africa etc).
After hearing Oprah's last few shows about what is really going on out their with young men and women in the world, I have to say-no wonder the General leadership was inspired to add the new value Virtue!
It was a fabulous day in SLC after dropping off nominations for Huntsman awards by the Univ. of Utah. After the YW meeting, I beat traffic home to get dinner group ready and delivered. Ahh...another few weeks in the record books:) In another 7 days at this same hour, from the crossroads of the west...we will probably post again!
