Feeling "WICKED"

Our neighbor was SOOOOOOOOOOO nice to think of us when selling some of her tickets to Wicked! I heard they went fast and we probably would not have had the opportunity to see the show if not for her--so THANKS EMILY!! Maah-wahh!
We showed restraint although it was hard not to buy a t-shirt or witch hat!

Uh..ya...This would be why we are getting a new camera (stayed tuned to see if the pictures improve after Mother's Day:) We went on the night that President Monson, Uchdorf, their wives and other General Authorities were there. You can kind of see Pres. Uchdorf in the upper right of the picture and the back of President Monson's head near the center of the picture. It was fun to be in the same room with them. I think they were all on their way back from BYU's graduation that night. We were able to wave to them in their cars whisking them away after the performance.
One day we will get away to NY to see more shows but we thought it was great we were able to see Wicked here! (Toss-toss) (Line from the show:)
Mikelle was able to come too as part of her b-day present!
Such a great performance! We love the theater! It would be so awesome to be able to sing like that! Steve keeps his chuckles to himself as Mikelle & I try to "take it away" in the car on the way home:) We get props for music appreciation at least though right!

Inspired by "The Daffodil Principle"

I am officially at least 6 weeks behind in my blogging and didn't know if I would ever get my head above water enough to post something but tonight was inspired after reading a few pages in a book from my mom. It was the one about a daughter begging her mom to come and visit to see the daffodils in bloom by her home before they were gone. The mom finally agrees to come after mulitple phone calls and a stressful trip there. The daughter leads her down a path and shows her this beautiful hollow filled with spectacular daffodils (5 acres full). They see a well-kept A-frame house in the distance, small and modest in the midst of the daffodil glory. The sign on the house said "50,000 bulbs, one at a time, by one woman. Two hands, two feet, and very little brain. Began in 1958." I thought I have 50,000 things on my mind and to-do list but maybe one post, one chapter, one YW activity, one shift, one lesson, one mile on the treadmill/bike, one thing at a time and I will be able to accomplish all that is before me and have a beautiful garden of knowledge and experience 50 years down the road!
So here's to catching up:) Our girls' weekend six weeks ago was a blast in Park City. It is always so fun to get away. We went out to eat, visited Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory store and had a great time catching up. It was a horrible week to have started "my new diet" but had to start sometime as no time is ever good:)

Some of the fun included my sister Annissa announcing she was pregnant! This was so exciting as she has always known there were 5 kids that were coming to her little family. Julie can always guess when Annissa is pregnant and she "needs a little bite of protein and needs to lay down for a minute!" Congrats Annis!!

We were able to catch the new movie that came out that night (17 Again). Mikelle has me into all of her little HSM type movies/stars. I thought it was a cute show and of course I loved it the most as it took us back to my graduating year of "89!! The nailed the clothes and cheer outfits from 20 years ago exactly:)
We also had plenty of time to sit and watch a few DVD's, talk and eat. Thanks to Kimi and her Marriott connections, we were living in the lap of luxury!
The view outside our room was beautiful. You can see some of the Park City buildings/businesses lit up. It was so relaxing.
We were able to hit the outlets. My goal was to get stocked up on baby gifts. They had some darling clothes. Everyone came home and showed each other what deals they found.
As we were headed back to the outlets on the last day, we found out the power had gone out. I wanted to go for a drive anyway and happened to take the turn up to the Olympic Park. I was just in time to catch the last bus tour for the day.
We were able to see alot of the Olympic venues that I had not seen in person in 2002. I felt like I was able to re-live some of it that day getting the inside scoop from the tour guide who was also a former olympic athlete. One day we will have to try the bobsled track!
Boarding the tour bus...
Standing in the small lot where the bleachers had been built to accommodate all of the spectators.
The start of one of the runs.
Trying to look cool in a bobsled!
Seeing what the athletes see before they ski down!
It looks amazing on TV and in person!
There is a picture hanging up there that shows the skiiers before they compete. The little person crouched over on the left hand side with F2 on his bib is the 8 or 10 year old who went down the jump first to test everything out. How cool would that be?
Can you believe I am from Utah and never been skiing? I guess I saw too many injuries from working on the ortho/neuro floor at the hospital:)...and I don't really like freezing to death but who knows--our family may have to tag along with Jon. Cami, & Alex this year! (Don't even say the word "stay-cation" right)?
I loved to see all of the displays at the museum when you return from the bus tour.
More of the "sleds."
My chance to hold the olympic flame/torch!
These trailers pictured are where the "ski" kids attend school all summer so they can ski, train and compete all winter! How cool to see how other people live their lives!
The whole weekend was so much fun and great to be together as sisters and with Mom. Can't wait until the fall my little daffodil girls...so we can do it all again!
