Last Day of School = Moms Behaving Badly!

Ready, Aim, Fire!! Last year, our cute neighbor decided to start a new tradition of a water balloon fight with our kids as they got off the bus on the last day of school. It grew a little bit this year with more moms and more ammo. It was very fun and a great way to officially start summer vacation!

Usually there are mixed emotions about kids getting out of school, but I am so done with projects, homework, and being the task-master of everyone, that I can say I am 100% ready for school to be done for the year! Great job Mikelle, Cameron, & Christian on your straight A's! Another year down and just "a few" to go! We are proud of you!!

Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head...

Rain or shine, we have recently "a-DOPP-ted" tradition and joined my sister's family at Lagoon on Memorial Day. Most years so far have been on the "cool" side, but do you see anyone complaining? It has been so fun to meet with both families, enjoy the rides at the start of the season without the crowds, and create family memories!

We did have to stall a little bit this year, waiting for the big downpour to let up, but in the mean time, we were able to see Jon & Cami's new home! Nice job guys on taking the plunge!! The kids had a blast trying out your basement & toys! Thanks for letting us stop by with only a moment's notice and with only a few days before delivering the new baby!!

Jennie had booked the traditional Yellow Terrace for us which is private and convenient. THANKS! Grandma Gus and Dopp never disappoint with the "treat-fest." The view and fresh air from the sky-ride (3rd pic) were incredible.

Some of the cute things that day were: the cousin traffic jam on the bumper cars, Kennedy having the "Scalliwags" ride all to herself for a few turns (4th pic), and seeing all of the cousins--especially the littlest of which are DARLIE & IZZTHIE! Thanks Gus's & Dopps for such a fun day!! We hope to have many more years of fun together!

Mother's Day 2008

Yeah! The one day of the year where you feel like you are "da bomb." Everyone appreciates you and everything you do! Steve and the kids gave me a cute card that reads:

You're thoughtful, smart and nice
and share the best advice.

You give lots of rides,
and cook and clean besides...

as well as dry a tear.

You pick up socks and shorts,
and cheer while watching sports.

You tend to wounded knees
and notice every sneeze.

on whom we can depend.

I have the best husband and kids. They pampered me to death with all of the meals that day, cards, flowers, chocolates, $$, gifts from their school classes, notes etc.! Thanks so much!!

Mikelle's 11th Birthday Party

Usually we are a day late and a dollar short with most things in life (like posting Mikelle's b-day party which happened the middle of May), but with the economy going the way it is, we claim the right to be a month late and $100 short! Here we go on "catching up!"

Mikelle had a wonderful time celebrating her birthday with about 20 of her closest friends! They made flip flops (see 2nd picture), played night games, relay races etc. It was 4 hours of non-stop fun, topped off with cake and ice cream. She received lots of great presents and loved them all! I was most excited about the "baby-sitting kit" she received (last picture). :) She has done a great job starting as our babysitter here and there and is excited to earn her own $$. She really does have the greatest friends; all good girls and always fun to be with. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKELLE!!

LaGoOn'S best rides according to me (Mikelle)

Those of you have never been to Lagoon (you are CRAZY) these are some of the best rides according to me! The rides names are Wicked, Spider, Rattle Snake Rapids, OdySea, and Old White RollerCoster. They are all so FUN!! I LOVE LAGOON!!
