So. Cal. Trip 2010

Thanks to Mikelle being an "on the ball blogger" (before our computer crashed), we at least have a few pics from our California trip in February! Slowly but surely I am catching up! Jet Blue was so great to fly with. They were all so personable and nice! Here we are saying goodbye to the cold weather for a week!
We found great deals on flights and since the price was so close to what it would cost to drive, we chose the one hour route there:).
Kennedy did well this time.

The pilots were so nice to give the kids a tour of the cockpit. Talk about claustrophobic! I don't think I could do it! I am sure you get used to it!

Cheese!
We flew into Long Beach and then drove the first day to Hollywood. We visited Madame Tussuad's wax museum and loved seeing the stars "in real life."

I am so glad Mikelle had some of these pics saved as this was one of my favorites of her.

We love the chipmunks, especially Theodore!

Christian and "Cameron." I didn't realize Leo was so tall!
Pop and Simon...

The boys and Kobe!

Walking on the ceiling with Spidey!

Cameron showing off his martial art skills!

Mikelle getting interviewed...

Cam & Pop chatting it up...

Michael's star was crowded! We were finally able to get a picture in between groups gathered around it.

After the wax museum, we weren't ready to leave Hollywood yet. We were out of luck seeing Graumans Chinese Theater, as they had just finished their last tour for the day. We decided to try a tour of some of the famous landmarks and homes of Hollywood.

We loved the open air tour bus but had a few technical difficulties with the headphones (shorting-out). After we solved that problem, it was a fun tour. A guy from Germany had to excuse himself part-way through the tour as it was "too cold" for him. It was a little chilly at times but compared to Utah--it felt great!

Now I am forgetting what they said about this famous street (Sunset Blvd?) but they did say the palm trees are planted alternately with a big one and then a small one to give the illusion of grandiosity or something!
We were naughty and watched the TV show Melrose Place growing up. I guess this street sign just brought back the memories. You have got to love Heather Locklear and friends through the years though!
The most photographed sign ever...(the tour guide said:)
We saw many of the stars homes from the road but most of them were somewhat hidden with the shrubs etc. I did love Dr. Phil's home though...that elegant yet "Tuscan" look (as my sister Annis would say:)! It was a wonderful trip and so amazing to spend time with each other as it has been a stressful year! So nice to relax! Wish we wouldn't have lost all the Sea World, San Diego Wild Life Park, beach and night swimming etc. pics...oh well! Life does go on!

Looks like a fun trip. I would fly too if the prices were comparable.
